Marcus Cooks is the alter ego of Marcus, a sneaker collecting, streetwear buying, charity giving all around good guy that I’m fortunate enough to call my friend.

Marcus Cooks began as a way for Marcus, a self confessed foodie, to share his self taught cooking skills within the sneakerhead/streetwear community. Things quickly gained momentum and Marcus found himself entertaining a growing following with his daily recipes and even undertaking food “challenges” set by his audience, be it the budget to make a meal, a post gym recipe or vegan twists on conventional meals, his base of followers expanding with every meal made.

Marcus reached out to me to create something that reflected not only what he does, but who he is, and above all looked as fresh as the food he loves to cook.

So with this in mind it made sense that a custom logotype would fit the bill. Countless drafts with a brush pen, tweaking letters here and there, and again throughout the vector process. The end result is a mark that hints at Marcus’ streetwear style whilst delivering on the fresh, clean aesthetics that the brief demanded. Finished with the statement making and trustworthy Futura typeface for secondary applications.

“Want to send a massive thanks to my good friend Chris Bliss for my new logo for Marcus Cooks. So so happy with how it’s turned out! If you ever need any design work doing do not hesitate to get in touch with him.” – Marcus Cooks
